Roland Chorus Echo RE-301

The 'space' echo with chorus and sound on sound.

The electronics are different from the RE-150 and RE-201. These work with transistors and the RE-301 and RE-501 work with op amps. Some people find the RE-150 and RE-201 sound more organic than the RE-301 and RE-501. I think so too, but they sound very nice anyway with their own character. It is of course all personal and subjective!

The RE-310 does have the beautiful retro look that the RE-501 does not have.

The main difference between the RE-301 and RE-501 is that the RE-501 has:

- Balanced input/output on XLR.
- Simple noise reduction system with compression (compander)
- Sound on Sound head placed after the last normal play head.
- Echopad is longer which means slightly longer echo.
