Pearl Vorg echo orbit EO-302  COMPLETELY OVERHAULED

The Vorg echo orbit EO-302 is the follow up of the EO-302 but with 2 sliders for Low and High EQ settings. The same soft character in terms of sound and also quite quiet for a tape echo BUT the self oscilation of the feedback is more crunchy and dirty. the electronic build is also a bit different. Mechanically it is a bit more sturdy then the EO-301. 

Comes  from the same period as the Roland space echo and also looks a bit like  it in terms of color and model, not in terms of sound I think.

Fixed  echo times and also double echo times to make triplets, no spring  reverb.

1 : long echo time

2: shorter echo time

3: shortest echo time

4, 5 & 6 : combination of the 3 play heads

It is a speed variable motor that allows you to control the echo times. This is of course very nice.

With the fastest motor setting with the feedback all open the sound will sizzle. 

This is with the optimized azimuth of the rec and play heads. I did some settings on the rec and play heads so that you don't have the sizzle echo feedback anymore because it is not my sound. 

The sound is not somewhat darker and the top end (highs) are a bit rolled off and no high sizzle sound now anymore. 

If you like that sound, you can alway set (azimuth the rec and the play heads yourself, very easy and done by ear ! 

Completely overhauled. 

- All the electrolytic capacitors have been replaced for quality Panasonic 105 degrees ones. 

- The heads have been polished and shines like new.

- The rubber pinchroller has been cleaned and the hole of the capstan has been lubricated with special      oil. 

- The plastic guidance rollers have been cleaned and the holes have been lubricated with ceramic grease.

- The heads have been demagnetised

- All the potmeters have been washcleaned and blown dry with an aircompressor and are schratch free

- The tolex case have been polished and shines like new

The bias potmeter on the PCB for adjusting the time that the echo goes in self oscilation. It is now in the middle. 

I have adjusted the recording head slightly so that the echo does not go into a wheezing self-oscillation at the highest speed of the motor. It loses a little in high end but I like the sound better. You can adjust this yourself of course, easy to do.

New tapeloop on the unit and you get 3 extra tapeloops ! 

Cosmetically almost in mint condtion but some surface wear but hey !!  45 years old !
